On April 29, after the Alabama tornadoes devastated homes across the state, I wrote about a Facebook page that was started to aid in a small but powerful way: It connected lost photographs found after the storms with their rightful owners. Since the start of the page, nearly 100,000 people have signed on and almost 3,000 documents and photographs have been posted.
After the worst twister outbreak since the 1930s and with nearly 330 people dead in the wake of the storms, the page became one spot of solace in a devastated landscape. Facebook put together an incredible video, in which Patty Bullion, the creator of the page, tells the gut-wrenching story behind starting the page:
