Arturas Zuokas, Lithuanian mayor, clears up bike lanes — with a tank (Video)

The Capital Bikeshare program in Washington, which lets me loan out bikes a la Zip Car, has made me an avid fan of bikeable cities. Vilnius, Lithuania just moved to the top of my list for Possible Places to Run Away To. Not only is biking a foremost concern of the city’s mayor, Arturas Zuokas, but if the mayor is any representation of the city itself, it’s a town served with a nice side dish of crazy.

To make a point about cars needing to move out of the bike lane, Zuokas modeled a lesson on cartoons and simply ran an offending car over with a tank (actually, an armored personnel carrier). If only I had a tank to use around Washington:
