Bonnaroo 2011 kicks off in rural Tennessee [VIDEO]

If you’re chained to your desk today instead of frolicking through the open farm fields of Manchester, Tenn., in preparation for four days of rock music, silent disco, beer, and comedy, you can still catch the festival’s live stream, which VEVO will start broadcasting tomorrow.

In the meantime, check out this seizure-inducing video of the performances, crowd-surfing, and head-banging that took place during the festival in 2009. The background tune for this time-lapse video? Phish, of course. Watch:

Okay, so fans from afar won’t get to see a live stream of Thursday acts like surfer band Best Coast or the vintage instrument-playing band The Walkmen. But, as in years past, the best acts this year are saved for last, when fans will likely all collapse, dizzied and ears ringing, into a state of Bonnaroo reverie. Watch the stream below:
