Bronx Zoo cobra: Official NYC tourism ambassador

Everyone’s favorite snake might be back safely in its enclosure at the Bronx Zoo, but that doesn’t mean we’ve heard the last from it:

So what’s in store for the cobra that captured New York City’s heart? Well, the city’s office of toursim spokeswoman Kimberly Spell writes that the snake has slithered its way into a role as “NYC tourism ambassador.”

“In less than a week she generated global attention, promoted multiple hot spots and guaranteed that future visitors from around the world will make the Bronx Zoo a must see on their next visit to New York City,” Spell said.

Here’s to the city’s newest mascot.
