The newest holiday being celebrated by greeting card giant Hallmark -- purveyor of teddy bears, sappy movies and cheesy birthday decorations — is the holiday of unemployment.

In a new line of greeting cards, Hallmark has created messages to send to a friend or family member who has lost a job, Time NewsFeed reports.
Some of them are funny: “Don't think of it as losing your job. Think of it as a time-out between stupid bosses.”
Others not so much: “Losing your job does not define you. What you do about it does.”
A Hallmark spokesperson told the AFP that the cards were created to “meet a relevant and niche consumer need.” That got us thinking: What other “niche consumer needs” have prompted greeting cards? Below are a few of our favorites:
