In Wellington, New Zealand winter has come (video)

(Screengrab from Vimeo.com) On Monday, for the first time since the 1930s, snow hit Wellington, New Zealand. Filmmaker Ro Tierney captured the glee and surprise of passersby in a short film he posted to Vimeo. To snow-socked citizens of the southern hemisphere, the charm of the winter may be wearing thin, but for those of us still in the summer in the northern hemisphere, it’s a good reminder: Winter is coming. And it isn’t always that bad.
