‘Jack Sparrow’ pepper-sprayed by ‘Catwoman:’ only in Hollywood

Bumblebee the Transformer paced back and forth. Barney the Dinosaur swayed side to side, his tail sweeping over the Hollywood stars on the Walk of Fame. On the sidewalk sat Jack Sparrow, recently pepper-sprayed and being treated by paramedics for injuries. His attacker? Catwoman.

It’s not an elaborate movie sequel; it’s the scene in an ABC News segment captured on camera Thursday night after a brawl broke out on Hollywood Boulevard.

The street outside Kodak Theater can be a contentious battleground for people who dress up in movie character costumes and pose for photographs with tourists in exchange for tips, the Los Angeles Times reports. There have been a number of run-ins along the stretch over the years. SpongeBob SquarePants was arrested in September after a run-in with two women.

On Thursday, a man dressed as Jack Sparrow was pepper-sprayed by a woman in a Catwoman outfit. She told NBC News that she used Mace on the man only after he antagonized her repeatedly. Willy Wonka backed up her story.
