In what may be the fourth stage collapse this summer, the stage beneath Chicago band the Smith Westerns crashed to the ground Thursday just as they were about to start a set at the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium.
At least one person was killed and 40 more injured, according to the Associated Press.
Just before the concert began, Smith Westerns singer Cullen Omori tweeted about the coming rain:
The rain at Pukkelpop was accompanied by hail and strong winds that toppled stage equipment, towers, a tent and a tree.
The festival was halted, and as many as 60,000 attendees have left the mud-filled grounds.
