Ron Garan, homesick in space, sings the blues

Ron Garan is legend. The man was an F-16 pilot before becoming an aquanaut, and then a NASA astronaut. From the International Space Station, where he is stationed, he tweets excited updates as @Astro_Ron and posts pictures of events on Earth on his blog Fragile Oasis. When a space toilet got backed up in July, it was Garan to the rescue.

At BlogPost, we have become huge fans of AstroRon as he floats above us, thanks to the stream of amazing photos he’s been sending back to Earth via Twitter.

But despite his often cheery demeanor, Garan isn’t feeling too great at the moment. The astronauts on the International Space Station just found out they’ll have a two-month delay in getting home, because of the crash of an unmanned Russian transporter spacecraft.

To beat the homesickness, Garan pulled out a guitar and recorded a song, and it goes a little like this:
