Sandy McMillin claims Wal-Mart kicked her out for bikini top (Video)

Sandy McMillin talks to KVLA. (KVAL.)
Sandy McMillin said she was kicked out of a Eugene, Ore., Wal-Mart for wearing a bikini top. Now this piece of wacky local news has gone viral.

The story’s pretty simple. The 53-year-old woman wore a bikini top to buy “sour cream, chips and coffee creamer” at the retail chain. It was a 90-degree day, so she figured she’d skip wearing a shirt. McMillin was kicked out of the store, a spokesperson said, for being rude to other customers, and now she’s mad.

(To see the whole outfit, check out KVAL’s video below.)

“I hadn't done anything obnoxious or outlandish,” McMillin told KVAL, the local news station that first reported the story. She’s never going to the store again.

And guess what: KVAL got a lot of e-mails, calls and Facebook messages about the story!

“Most emails and online comments were harsh and unsympathetic, if not inappropriate for a civil discourse,” the station wrote in a follow-up.

The station has the many news outlets who picked up the story to thank for the outpouring of most-likely NSFW comments. At the moment, there are 271 articles that mention McMillin on Google News from outlets including the Associated Press, the New York Daily News and now The Washington Post’s BlogPost.

Perhaps she should think about heading to an Apple store next. (See the video here for why.)

Now it’s your turn. Do you think McMillin’s clothing choice was appropriate for a shopping trip? Tell us in the comments.
