The largest solar flares since 2005 blasted past Earth on Tuesday. Despite warnings from space experts of possible interference to GPS signals, the solar storm turned out to be a mild 2 on a scale of 1 to 5. Even so, it created some spectacular aurora borealis the past few nights. See images and videos of the lights dancing over the Northern Hemisphere below:
