Steve Jobs tributes march on (Photo)

Steve Jobs (Paul Sakuma/AP)
“Steve Jobs resigned 6 hours ago, that's like two weeks ago in Twitter time. Please stop telling me it happened,” Tom Gara wrote on Twitter. At the time of this writing, it’s now been about 20 hours since news broke that the Apple CEO was stepping down. And still the airwaves are filled with tributes to the man. It’s partly because the man was more than just the leader of a successful tech company. He embodies innovation and creativity, inspiring people. It is a rare businessman to have such a cult-like following.

Of all the tributes, though, my favorite is Drew Sunderland in a message he sent to a friend of his here at the Post. It’s brevity perfectly captures the general sorrow over Jobs’s departure:

Sad news.  Dude has played a major role in my life since dinosaur pajamas.
