The Band Perry, Brad Paisley and the Zac Brown Band get their honky tonk on

There’s a part of me that secretly wishes I were a honkey-tonk country girl, dancing the two-step at the Broken Spoke every Tuesday night. Since there isn’t a huge country music following among my Yankee friends, the Country Music Awards have become a quick-hit way to indulge in good ol’ boy music. Here are three of the acts from Sunday night that made me hanker for a cowboy hat.

And, last, but not least, country music is always depressing and bizarre, but The Band Perry, winners of the Best New Artists award, outdo them all with this strange, suicidal song that evokes the story of Ophelia:
