A new video surfaced on YouTube today that appears to show the back story of the infamous kissing couple of the Vancouver Riots 2011. In line with the story Scott Jones and Alexandra Thomas told to media outlets early this week, riot police ran into the couple as they attempted to escape the crowds after the Canada lost to Boston in a hockey game and violence exploded in Vancouver.

In the video, after Thomas falls, it appears that the police hit the couple with shields and Jones quickly covers his girlfriend to protect her. A few seconds later, the couple is left alone on the street and Thomas is seen trying to comfort his sobbing girlfriend.

This pretty much lays to rest any lingering doubt I had that the photograph was staged. Also, all of my feminine genes are screaming out “Adorableness!” for Thomas reacting so quickly to protect his lady.

The cute couple is now looking to capitalize on their instant fame, recently hiring a high-powered publicist. It’s also rather amazing how well-documented our lives are now. This is the third time this couple’s moment was caught on camera, all by strangers. The eyes are everywhere.
