Biola professor goes outside the box to explain imaginary numbers


Right before April Fools Day, math students at Biola University in Southern California learned the difference between real and imaginary numbers from professor Matthew Weathers and his imaginary self, who appears in a YouTube video.

Weathers produced the video with the help of Andrew Staver, a Biola student studying film production. Check it out:

In a profile last spring, the student newspaper the Chimes described Weathers as “a professor that brightens your day during class by bringing color to an often not-too-interesting subject.” Weathers also usually gets rave reviews from his students on ratemyprofessor.com.
