#THATintern: The super shy intern

What’s that intern’s name? No one seems to know. So they call that intern the super shy intern.

Almost all interns start off a little shy (and that’s not a bad thing). But that intern is so painfully quiet and overly bashful that the summer passes with few words being spoken.

That intern always gets the job done, doesn’t annoy anyone and seems friendly. But the quietness becomes overwhelming, the limited conversations are just too painful. Even fellow interns can’t get that intern to warm up.

And at the end of the summer, that intern disappears and no one seems to notice.

(Today’s entry was based on suggestions from Krizia Evasco, a University of Southern California student, and Steven Overly of the Post’s Capital Business.)

About #THATintern: Every intern class has “that intern” — as in,“Don’t be that intern.” Each day I introduce you to one of them. Share your ideas on Twitter using the hashtag #THATintern. And check out our Intern City page, too.
