#THATintern: The wandering intern

At 9:03 a.m. that intern wanders through the office in the direction of the coffeepot in the kitchen. At 9:07 a.m. that intern wanders by again, this time headed toward the bathroom. At 9:14 a.m., that intern wanders toward the supply closet. Then to another intern’s desk. Then back to the kitchen. Then outside. Then back inside. Then to a young staffer’s desk. Then to the receptionist’s candy bowl. Then back to the supply closet.

All day long, the wandering intern walks in roaming circles around and around and around and around the office.

Does that intern even have a desk? And if so, does that intern ever sit at that desk and do work? Does that intern even work here?

(Special thanks to shall-not-be-named co-worker who suggested this entry.)

About #THATintern: Every intern class has “that intern” — as in,“Don’t be that intern.” Each day I introduce you to one of them. Share your ideas on Twitter using the hashtag #THATintern. And check out our Intern City page, too.
