Over the last several days, no image, set of images, video or set of videos can do justice to the catastrophic series of events that have unfolded in Japan. In lieu of an image of the day, I’ve aggregated some of the most dramatic images, videos, and galleries from around the web to post in one place here. They are worth viewing if only to remind us how cruel nature can be and to help us better understand the trauma inflicted on the Japanese people.
ESRI: Location incident map (GIS map of where the various earthquakes have occurred)
BBC: Japan earthquake, Footage of moment tsunami hit
Talking points memo: As the disaster unfolded
Washington Post: The fishing port that vanished
NY Times: Before and after with interactive glider
The Boston Globe’s Big Picture
