The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning until 3:45 p.m. for D.C., Montgomery County, Arlington County, Fairfax County, the City of Alexandria, the City of Fairfax and the City of Falls Church. From the Weather Service...

AT 952 AM EDT...RADAR INDICATED AN AREA OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WILL MOVE ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. DOPPLER RADAR AND AREA RAIN GAGES INDICATES THAT BETWEEN 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN OVER THE WARNED AREA...WITH ANOTHER HALF INCH TO AN INCH EXPECTED THROUGH 345 PM EDT.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED...DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

See our full forecast into early next week.
