A band of extremely heavy snow has developed over much of the Washington, D.C. area. Snowfall rates will be 1-2" an hour through 8:30 a.m. or so. The heavy snow combined with winds of 15-25 mph will create visibilities near zero at times. Do not travel unless absolutely necessary.
