FORECAST IN DETAIL

Our post-summer season is continuing to work out fairly nicely with high temperatures frequently in the comfortable 70s. Today is no exception, although clouds increase later today and tonight. We’ll hit a brief roadbump tomorrow as temperatures pop into the low-to-mid 80s via a warm southerly flow. Some showers are possible tomorrow and that risk continues all the way into Saturday as a cool front gets tangled up in our area. Sunday may finally break free with more sun.

Today (Tuesday): Partly to mostly sunny skies greet us today after another brisk morning. The day is breezier than yesterday with winds at 10-15 mph from the south and southwest as our most recent high pressure areas shifts farther off the East Coast. Increasing clouds are expected later this afternoon towards evening ahead of our next weather system. Highs should range through the middle 70s. Confidence: High

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a 30% risk of late night showers. Lows drop into the mid-to-upper 50s with light breezes of 5-10 mph mainly from the south. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): The warmest day of the week is favored for hump day with high temperatures popping into the low-to-mid 80s. This should not be quite as warm as last Saturday’s 80s due to less sunshine and a 30% risk of early morning and then afternoon/evening showers. It’s a bit breezier with winds at 10-15 mph with higher gusts at times in the afternoon. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy with more scattered showers (40% chance) and lows in the low-to-mid 60s. Confidence: Medium

A LOOK AHEAD

Thursday and Friday find a cool front stalled out around our area, so we are dealing with frequent cloud cover (maybe a few sun breaks) and a running 30 to 40% risk of showers. As noted yesterday, we are not expecting a complete washout here with mainly light and scattered showers. Highs should range in the low-to-mid 70s as lows Thursday and Friday night drop into the upper 50s to low 60s. Confidence: Low-Medium

The weekend looks to start where the workweek ends as clouds and shower risks dominate our Saturday. Highs should be in the low-to-mid 70s, and we expect 40% chance of showers. We should finally start to clear this system out of area by Saturday evening with partly cloudy skies and lows in the 50s to near 60 in the city. Sunday looks partly to mostly sunny and comfortable as high temperatures again range in the lower 70s. Our dew points should dry out though, making the day even more comfortable. Confidence is still on the low side though due to possible timing changes on the front’s departure. Confidence: Low
