FORECAST IN DETAIL

For those keeping score, today is day 4 in a row of sweet weather bliss. We’re a lock for a 5th day of this stuff tomorrow, and Friday doesn’t look too shabby either. The weekend brings a different pattern, and a good deal of uncertainty as far as the forecast goes.

Today (Wednesday): Another cool start especially in the suburbs, and another fantastic day with abundant sunshine and low humidity. Afternoon highs are a few degrees warmer than yesterday, in the low 80s with light winds. Confidence: High

Tonight: Clear skies stay with us through the night. That means evening temperatures drop off steadily through the 70s and into the 60s. Overnight lows get down to the low-to-mid 50s in the cooler suburbs to the upper 50s to near 60 downtown. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Thursday): Why not do it again? We stick with brilliant sunshine and comfortable humidity, even if a touch higher than today. Highs should make the low-to-mid 80s with no rain threat in sight. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Our string of very pleasant evenings continues. Skies should remain mostly clear into the overnight with lows a notch warmer, in the upper 50s to mid-60s. Confidence: High

A LOOK AHEAD

Friday may see humidity creep up a bit and maybe some clouds too. But overall it should be another relatively nice day with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the low-to-mid 80s, followed by Friday night lows in the 60s with a 20% chance of a shower. Confidence: Medium-High

A cold front on its way through the area along with an area of upper-level energy spells some uncertainty for the weekend forecast. This will likely need fine-tuning as we get closer, but for now I’d call both days partly sunny with a 30-40% chance of showers and highs in the mid-70s to mid-80s. Confidence: Low-Medium
