Tis the season to be outdoors, fa la la la. Oops, wrong season... Fall officially arrives on Saturday afternoon but it takes until Sunday to truly feel the part. In the meantime, I would heap accolades on a day like today, but you know it is actually normal for this date. But then we all know normal is not the norm around here! The only showers to dodge are likely to be overnighters Saturday and then back to ideal fall weather with a real chill in the air by Monday morning.

Today (Thursday): Other than a stray wisp of high clouds, the sun is in full control today. Humidity remains low. Breezes are relegated to a few gentle puffs. Highs reach the mid-to-upper 70s. Confidence: High

Tonight: The skies remain mostly clear to show off the growing crescent moon after sunset in the west. Evening readings are upper 60s to lower 70s and overnight lows are mainly mid-to-upper 50s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Friday): The temperatures climb a little more quickly today and the breeze from the south picks up the pace. However, humidity remains relatively benign under cloudless skies. Highs top out in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: This is a delightful night to be out on the town or out wherever. Evening readings are in the 70s under starry skies. Lows manage to reach the low-to-mid 60s. Confidence: High

Saturday does a good job at giving one last hurrah for summer as the direct rays of the sun slip into the southern hemisphere in the afternoon. Our rays of sun begin to fade by midday as clouds start to scoot across the sky. Highs are likely to top out in the low-to-mid 80s before the cloud curtain comes down.Brisk breezes from the south increase humidity but not uncomfortably so. The chance of a stray shower in the evening is 20% but increases to 60% after midnight. Evening reading are in the 70s and lows fall through the 60s. Confidence: Medium

Sunday should quickly shed the clouds with only a 20% chance of an early morning shower. Skies should clear by afternoon but with winds whipping in the teens and 20s mph from the north, you will need to stand in that sun to keep from getting a chill. We have traded in 80s for low-to-mid-70s. Evening readings quickly fall through the 60s and overnight lows slip as low as the mid-40s burbs to mid-50s downtown. Confidence: Medium

Despite a brisk start, Monday is another dandy. Highs reach the lower 70s under mostly sunny skies. Confidence: Medium-High
