A cold front rushes through the region today, with downpours and even strong gusts of winds. Then, smooth sailing through Thursday with sunny, mild mid-October weather. Another front punches through the area Friday, setting up what should be another great autumn weekend.

Today (Monday): Very mild when you get up and head out, with temps near 60. A line of showers, with possible embedded thunderstorms, likely approaches western areas by mid-morning and blows through eastern areas by early evening. Any thunderstorms - especially east of I-95 - may contain gusty winds. Average rainfall totals should be around 0.5”. Highs range from 65-70. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Showers may linger in eastern areas through 8 p.m. or so. Skies gradually clear, with overnight lows ranging from the mid-40s (in the cooler suburbs) to near 50 downtown. Confidence: Medium-High
