Sunday started a string of what should be 4 straight days at or above 95. On the plus side, we won’t match the record-setting 11-day streak that ended the Sunday before. Late Wednesday into Thursday, a cold front is going to kick the hot, humid air out of town. Some gusty storms might rumble through around then. It dries out by Friday and the weekend.
Today (Monday): Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid. We’ll have enough residual juice in the atmosphere to fire up a late day storm or two but most spots stay dry. Highs reach the mid-to-upper 90s, which feel as hot as 99-103 factoring in the humidity. Don’t expect much of a breeze to cool you down. Winds are from the west at 5-10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: Somebody could see an isolated evening storm (20 percent chance); otherwise, it’s partly cloudy and muggy. Lows range from the low 70s in the cooler suburbs to the upper 70s downtown. Winds are light. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Another steamy night. The humidity keeps the air feeling thick as lows struggle to drop below 80 downtown with low 70s in the cooler suburbs. Winds are light. Confidence: Medium-High
A LOOK AHEADWednesday marks the end of the brutal streak of blistering temperatures as highs climb to the upper 90s one more time. Late in the afternoon and into the evening, heavy showers and thunderstorms are possible as a cold front moves into the region. Lows are in the 70s. Confidence: Medium
The front takes it time settling south of the region Thursday. In fact, it’s in close enough proximity for clouds to perhaps stick around and for some more showers and storms to develop It’s not as hot, with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. Slow clearing Thursday night with lows in the mid-60s to low 70s (downtown). Confidence: Low-Medium
High pressure builds into the region Friday through Sunday. The air starts of drier and less humid, but temperatures still manage to reach normal to above normal levels for afternoon highs. On Friday, highs reach the upper 80s, heating up to near 90 Saturday and perhaps low-to-mid 90s by Sunday. Overnight temperatures range from the low 60s in the cooler suburbs to the low 70s downtown.
