Can you really believe it is October already? Mother Nature sure can’t, and she is pushing up our humidity and warmth in the coming days just to prove it. Scattered showers today and tonight are not a constant situation, and should clear out by tomorrow. The humidity lingers with just a slow reduction into Thursday and Friday. Temperatures should reach at least 80 until a weekend cool front approaches. Possible showers late Saturday should end Sunday when it likely turns cooler.
Today (Tuesday): Scattered showers and maybe a rumble of thunder prevail today, but they don’t dominate so we could still see breaks of sunshine at times too. Rainfall totals are generally light with totals mainly around 0.1-0.25”. With a weakening tropical low pressure area passing to our west and north, we get pushed into a more humid air mass, making highs in the mid-to-upper 70s feel less comfortable. Winds are from the south and southeast at 5-10 mph. Confidence: Medium
Tonight: Scattered showers likely, especially this evening, and dare I say “muggy” tonight? Lows only fall into the mid-to-upper 60s under partly to mostly cloudy skies with light breezes from the south. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Partly sunny with still a humid feel to the air as dew points hold in the 60s and high temperatures jump to the low-to-mid 80s. (Just remember, it could still be a lot worse in early October. The record for the day is 92 from1879!). Confidence: Medium
Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy with lows ranging through the 60s, but humidity levels finally start to edge a bit lower. Confidence: Medium
A LOOK AHEADThursday and Friday are fairly similar days with highs in the low-to-mid 80s under partly to mostly sunny skies. Humidity continues to edge lower with Friday probably feeling better than Thursday overall. Lows Thursday and Friday night under partly cloudy skies should range from the middle 50s in the outer suburbs to the low 60s in the city. Confidence: Medium
The weekend is a mixed story as a cold front approaches on Saturday, which could whip up some showers or even thunderstorms later in the day or more likely into the evening and overnight hours. Clouds should keep Saturday highs in the 70s, but a bit more sun could see us around 80 yet again. Saturday night lows could dip into the 40s and 50s depending on the cold front timing. Sunday looks breezy and much cooler with variable sky conditions and highs only managing mid-to-upper 60s. While confidence is high that this major cold front is targeting us this weekend, confidence is low on timing (could be as early as Saturday afternoon or as late as during Sunday). Confidence: Low
