No reprieve for the weary as the heat continues across the mid-Atlantic. For any still without power, I know this is getting old quickly, but at least after today you can enjoy the a/c at work! Today brings the last of our near-term chances at triple-digits but we’ll stay well into the 90s heading through the upcoming week. Widespread severe weather is not likely, but storms are possible each day going forward. With this heat and instability, any will need to be watched carefully.
Today (Sunday): One more day of extreme heat closes out our weekend. Bright skies cook the ground and our daytime highs get up to near the century mark once more. On the brighter side, thunderstorm chances lower a bit (more likely south),but storms are still possible (30% chance) towards evening as another impulse approaches our area. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: We’ll be watching for another potential round of showers or storms to pass through for the first half of the night. After that, its just another muggy summer night in DC. Skies are partly cloudy and nighttime lows remain in the 70s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Monday): The ridiculously hot conditions move off and we’re left with more normal summertime heat wave conditions. Skies are partly-to-mostly sunny during the day and our high temps climb into the low-and-mid 90s. Thunderstorm chances are again around 30% for development in the afternoon/evening. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow night: Showers and storms remain possible overnight (40%). In the still air it feels quite sticky out there with mostly cloudy skies and lows in the low-to-mid 70s. Confidence: Medium-HighA LOOK AHEAD
With no strong front coming through to give us a nice refreshing air mass behind it, we’re in a pretty stagnant pattern for the time being.
On Tuesday and the 4th of July (Wednesday), we’re looking at more of the same hot and steamy conditions with sunny skies and highs up into the mid-90s. Both days include the chances for storms to fire during the afternoon or evening, with Wednesday’s odds being slightly higher. Overnights remain mild and muggy, with lows in the low-to-mid 70s. Confidence: Medium-High
