‘Invigorating’ cold and showers for some. For the rest, a good excuse to make it a lazy Sunday in the warm and dry indoors. Get the Digit on Twitter | Discuss on Facebook
If you’ve been looking for a reason to spend your Sunday in sweatpants, on the couch, thanking your cable company, look no further. Yesterday’s cold front has brought a November-like chill, and a weak wave of low pressure provides the showers to keep you glued to the couch. Even if it’s dry for a time, who wants to go out in the cold? After today, we’ll see slow improvement in the temperature department, returning to the 70s by midweek.
Today (Sunday): It’s a perfect 10 if you like spending your Sunday indoors watching football and postseason baseball. If not, it’s pretty lousy. Scattered to widespread showers are likely into or through the early evening hours and our temperatures - oh my. They start out in the mid-40s to low 50s, and probably don’t go higher than the low 50s under cloudy skies. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: Shower chances diminish by mid-evening with the overnight likely dry. But with a breeze from the north ushering in even colder air, we’re looking at mostly to partly cloudy skies with overnight lows in the upper 30s (!) for many of our suburbs to the low 40s downtown. If you’re headed to the O’s game at Camden Yards, there’s a 50% chance of showers early, then just cold with temps in the 40s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Columbus Day): What initially looked like a partly to mostly sunny day is now trending cloudier as another little disturbance bothers us. Partly to mostly cloudy skies should keep our highs in the 50s, and we may even see a sprinkle or a few showers (20-30% chance) in the afternoon. Confidence: Medium
Tomorrow night: Maybe a sprinkle or shower. Otherwise, we should hold on to enough clouds to keep us from getting as cold as tonight. Look for partly cloudy skies and overnight lows ranging from near 40 to the mid-40s (suburbs to city). Confidence: MediumA LOOK AHEAD
By Tuesday we’re looking at decidedly better and brighter conditions. I’m hesitant to declare a sunny day with low pressure off the coast. But skies should be at least partly sunny and temperatures are on the rise, too, with highs in the 60s. Can’t rule out an isolated shower. It’s partly cloudy Tuesday night and another notch warmer, with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. Confidence: Medium
On Wednesday, it’s a regular heat wave! Not really, but it is considerably warmer as flow from the south/southwest returns some warmth to the area. We start out sunny, but clouds should increase during the day as our next cold front moves closer, even bringing a chance of an afternoon or evening shower. Highs aim for the low-to-mid 70s. Confidence: Low-Medium
