FORECAST IN DETAIL

We’ve piled up quite a number -- lucky 13 on the way today -- of cooler than normal days this month, and there’s no real warmth around the corner. The main difference going forward is that normal readings are now dipping closer to the temperatures we’ve been seeing, so it won’t be quite as cold on the departure scale. Other than the cool air, mostly benign weather remains the story for a while.

Today (Saturday): A quality November day is ahead! Much of it features cloudless skies, and breezes around 10 mph in the afternoon won’t be a big bother. The air isn’t in a hurry to do any real warming, which means we have another day of highs a few degrees cooler than they “should be” this time of year, with afternoon temps topping out in the near 50 to mid-50s range. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Just a few clouds here and there, in an otherwise clear sky. Breezes of the day subside through the night as temperatures head down to the upper 20s in the colder suburbs to the upper 30s downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Sunday): This should be another winner much like today. I’m being a bit pessimistic on the cloud cover, which may end up clearer than partly cloudy in the end, but there’s at least a hint it won’t. When this is the question in a forecast, there’s not too much to worry about! Temperatures are similar to today, reaching near 50 to the mid-50s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy to mostly clear skies present no difficulties. Lows dip to the mid-30s in the cold spots, while nearing 40 downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

A LOOK AHEAD

On Monday, we’ve got more of the same on tap, and highs are still pretty close to those of the weekend, topping out in the low-and-mid 50s. Those temperatures come with a good deal of sun as well, though by late in the day we might notice more in the way of mainly high clouds as a storm system begins to gather off to the south and southeast. Confidence: Medium

Climbing off morning lows in the 30s to near 40, Tuesday looks to offer some more clouds than days prior as that system gets going offshore to our south. It shouldn’t impact us much, but along with fairly cloudy skies, there’s a slight risk (20% chance) of showers. Temperatures should generally head back toward the mid-50s, with extra clouds keeping us a touch cooler and more sun allowing us to run toward the upper 50s in spots. Confidence: Low-Medium
