TODAY'S DAILY DIGIT
A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10
Tomorrow is warmer, but today is sunnier. If you are an allergy-sufferer like me, it is probably an 8 or 9. Get the Digit on Twitter| Discuss on Facebook
As we bounce our way toward the Easter holiday weekend, we continue to at least keep a mostly seasonal to warm pattern in place. Gardeners are looking for more rain than I can find currently, with only a few shower chances tomorrow and again late Sunday. Otherwise, highs mostly in the 60s and lows mostly in the 40s and 50s are nothing to complain about here in the heart of spring.
Today (Tuesday): Patchy early morning frost is possible in the far northern and western suburbs. Otherwise, a sun-dominated day is in store. High pressure slides over our area, and as it sets up off the East Coast later in the day, it wraps in some warmer conditions. Highs range in the mid-to-upper 60s. Light winds shift during the day, coming from the northwest in the morning and from the southwest in the afternoon. If you’re going to the Nationals exhibition game vs. the Red Sox, I’m not sure if you could really ask for better weather. Confidence: High
Tonight: Partly cloudy skies and not quite as cool with lows in the mid 40s to low 50s. A slight chance (20%) of a shower toward dawn. Light winds mainly from the south. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): A tricky forecast today as a front hangs around the area, triggering clouds and shower chances. But nearby stronger warming could also burst into the region. The thinking right now is to favor variable sky conditions, a 20% chance of a shower (best chances south of city), and highs pushing up into the low-to-maybe-mid 70s. Confidence: Low-Medium
Tomorrow night: Clouds clear out during the evening hours with temperatures dropping into the upper 30s in the outer suburbs to the low-to-mid 40s toward the city. Confidence: MediumA LOOK AHEAD
Thursday and Friday are similar days as cool Canadian high pressure holds our air temperature around seasonal or maybe a slight notch cooler. High pressure keeps the skies mostly sunny. Highs should be in the low-to-mid 60s with lows Thursday night (under mostly clear skies) ranging from the mid-30s in outlying areas to the low-to-mid 40s in the city. Confidence: Medium
The Easter weekend looks nice overall with mostly sunny skies on Saturday and for at least the first half of Easter Sunday. Highs both days range from the upper 60s to low 70s with lows Saturday and Sunday morning ranging from the mid 30s to the low-to-mid 40s. Some clouds could encroach on the area later Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening with a 30% chance of a shower. Given this pattern type, I wouldn’t expect a whole lot of anything, rain-wise. Nonetheless, it’ll be safer to schedule those Easter egg hunts earlier in the day. Confidence: Low-Medium
