FORECAST IN DETAIL

It’s officially cold-morning season, right? Well, today’s might be the last for a while. Temperatures are still running a little cooler than we’d expect in this part of November, but the trend upward from yesterday will be evident. More mild air is on the way as well, though it brings with it clouds and a chance of rain. Sounds sorta like a cooler version of last week’s forecast around this time.

Today (Saturday): If you like sunshine, you’ll be a fan of this one. I wish it was warmer, but by the second half of November we should be excited that we’re being treated to our third awesome Saturday in a row! Light wind means it won’t feel much colder than the actual temperature in the low-to-mid 50s come afternoon. Those breezes are from the south around 5 to occasionally 10 mph. Only a few clouds may scoot by, particularly late if it happens. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: It’s partly cloudy, maybe mostly cloudy for a time, and that plus a wind from the south means warmer overnight lows. This is the start of a several day stretch of freeze-free nights most spots, with lows mainly in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Sunday): I’m hopeful we see an early-day break in the cloudiness but I’m not positive. Still, we should trend cloudier as the day progresses. If lucky, that means high clouds for a time, potentially still allowing sunshine to break through a bit. They lower and thicken heading toward dark though. Temperatures are mild, ranging from near 60 to maybe as high as the mid-60s. A south or southwest wind continues, probably a little stronger than today. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Clouds are numerous and we introduce a 60% chance of showers into the mix as the night progresses. Don’t plan on any gully washer, but think of taking an umbrella along should you decide to go out for a midnight stroll. Lows range from the “balmy” upper 40s to the lower 50s. Confidence: Medium

A LOOK AHEAD

Ugh, the work week. Well, at least this one’s short. On Monday, plan on mild temperatures, clouds and shower chances, but really from here it does not appear too wet. Best odds might be early as the little disturbance from Sunday night could potentially linger, then again late as more energy tries to swing by. It’s hard to go much lower than 40% chance of getting wet though. Highs should near 60 at least, but mid-60s remain in play. Confidence: Medium

If you’re still in town on Tuesday, expect temperatures around 50 to start the day. Warmer than Friday (yesterday) maximums in many spots! We’ve got mostly cloudy skies on tap again, and a risk for showers again. Odds for rain are higher than Tuesday, 50% or so, particularly late as a warm front associated with a developing storm over the center of the country surges north. Daytime highs are near 60, though this could be a scenario where temperatures even warm into the night. We’ll see about that. Confidence: Medium
