This Just In: Santa has sent Capital Weather Gang his annual Christmas Eve forecast update! Here's his message below. But first, our message to you -- have a wonderful holiday, and in the words of Mr. Claus himself, "Don't lament the lack of snow, but instead shout Ho! Ho! Ho!"
Dear Weather Gang:
Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas Eve! Santa here, bringing you your Washington metro area forecast. It's been quite brisk up in the North Pole, with temperatures in the -0s.
Keep reading for the rest of Santa's update...
Solstice was Sunday, and gosh it was dark. It's been a few months since we've had any sunlight (Mrs. Claus is making me take Vitamin D supplements this winter so I don't get a deficiency again.) I'll be happy to get a break from this weather.
I'll be flying through a whole range of weather conditions. I usually wear layers, which come in handy (me and the elves usually take a quick dip at Waikiki beach; so of course, I'll bring my swimming trunks along too!). As usual, looks like I'll need my parka while flying through Minnesota and Maine and my rain gear for the Pacific Northwest.
Unfortunately, while it looks like it will be quite balmy in your neck of the woods today, it will likely be raining as well. Any significant rain should end by late tonight, thank goodness. I sure do like visiting D.C. this time of year, especially on a clear night, when I can see the National Christmas Tree shining so bright. I'm excited to hear there will be kids living in the White House again next Christmas...that will make next year's visit to the nation's capital even more fun.
And here's my message to all you snow lovers out there:
You better watch out, you better not cry
You better not pout, I'm telling you why...
Santa Claus is comin' to town!
There'll be no White Christmas for you this year. But I'll bring you plenty of holiday cheer. So don't lament the lack of snow - instead shout "Ho! Ho! Ho!"
(S.W.A.K....for Ann. Don't tell Mrs. Claus!)
