FORECAST IN DETAIL

Now this is a day to be thankful for Canada! Our breeze originating from the north is pulling down a beauty of an airmass manufactured at no charge. Humidity levels are just dandy for not only today but through most of the weekend. We have even seen enough rains in the past two weeks to keep the gardeners happy (check out my blog on butterflies in the garden later today ). That is good as this will be a dry forecast. What do you plan on doing to take advantage of this glorious weekend?

Today (Thursday): The northerly breeze is a clear sign that we have had a “changing of the air masses”. Humidity is about as low as it gets this time of year. Highs today should be no worse than mid-80s under perfectly sunny skies. Confidence: High

Tonight: An evening in the 70s is a good reason to get out and enjoy. The full moon will rise majestically in the eastern sky. It is commonly know as the “thunder moon” but the only thunder this evening comes from the jets taking off at local airports. Breezes calm quickly. Lows range from the upper 50s in the out of town spots to mid-60s downtown. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Friday): Day two of the beautiful weather has most of us pondering a quick escape from the office. A cloud or two is all that can be expected with this dry air. A light wind from the southeast keeps it even more comfortable. Highs should settle for the low-to-mid 80s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Starry skies and readings in the 70s make for a lovely evening. The breezes go calm so you may need the mosquito repellant for any backyard activities. Overnight lows range from the lower 60s in cooler spots to the upper 60s in the city. Confidence: Medium

A LOOK AHEAD

Saturday should draw out even the most ardent summer loathers. Plenty of sunshine and surprisingly low humidity makes for a day to hit the beaches, parks, pools, bike paths, athletic courts...have I forgotten anyone? Temperatures are creeping closer to normal levels today with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. High pressure allows evening readings to quickly slip back into the upper 70s. Lows should be in the mid-60s to lower 70s. Confidence: High

Sunday is a spot on, seasonable summer day. Sunshine still rules with just the typical puffs of clouds occasionallly drifting through. Humidity is creeping higher, but only slowly. Highs hang out in the upper 80s to around 90. Evening temperatures take their time getting back down to the upper 70s but who can complain. Lows settle in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Confidence: High

Monday is just in time to get back to the office as the humidity starts to climb and so do the temperatures. It is still well down on the misery index but highs do reach the low-to-mid 90s. Skies start sunny but clouds are likely to increase by evening as a weak cool front approaches. There is a slight 20% chance for an evening thundershower. Confidence: Medium-High
