FORECAST IN DETAIL

With this giant ridge of high pressure around, our fine weather ain’t goin’ anywhere for a while still. Just in time for the long weekend, our temperatures rise into what I consider the ideal range (right on schedule), and skies remain nearly nearly cloud free. Pleasant conditions stay with us until a possible moisture-laden system threatens to take aim at our region by late in the upcoming period.

Today (Friday): What a way to head into the long weekend! A good phrase for today would be “maximum sunshine.” Aside from the odd wispy cloud that passes through this afternoon, we’re looking at clear skies from sunrise to sunset today. Temperatures are near perfect as well with highs in the mid 70s. Winds are light and generally from the south. Confidence: High

Tonight: Out and about tonight? Might want to bring along a sweater as once again we’re on the cool side. With clear skies and calm winds, our overnight temperatures drop to the upper 40s and lower 50s. Confidence: High

Keep reading for the forecast through the weekend...

Tomorrow (Saturday): There’s not much room for improvement in my book but we’re still going to try. Lots more sun is in the forecast tomorrow along with temperatures creeping up a touch more. Highs get into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Not much to change here. Once the sun dips down, temperatures follow suit with the clear, dry air. Overnight lows are within a few marks of 50. Confidence: High

Sunday: It’s feeling like a fantastic broken record at this point. More cool morning temperatures followed by pleasant daytime readings. Expect tons of sun and highs near 80.

A LOOK AHEAD

Sunday night: A few clouds may drift by in an otherwise pretty clear night. Lows to drift back into the near 50 to low 50s range.

On Columbus Day, we finish off the holiday weekend the way we started it, maybe even nicer if you like warmth. With the sun in the sky, we should see temperatures push into the low 80s. There may even be a hint of humidity in the air to bring back some summer memories. Overnights lows are in the mid 50s. Confidence: Medium-High

Your back-to-work (for those fortunate who get off on Monday) forecast on Tuesday isn’t exactly gloomy, but there is potential change in the wind. We still start sunny and warm, but our suspected tropical disturbance could bring clouds and some showers our way by days end. Highs are in the mid-to-upper 70s. Confidence: Low-Medium
