FORECAST IN DETAIL
From Tuesday to Thursday this week, we step back into a chilly, March-like pattern. Temperatures will actually be cooler than average for a change, but these conditions won’t hang around. Friday and into the weekend we warm back up. The region remains bone dry and while we have a few rain chances this week (tonight, Wednesday and late Saturday), none are a sure thing and they don’t look substantial.
Today (Monday): The work week commences with partly to mostly sunny skies and pleasant temperatures. Temperature readily pass through the 40s and 50s in the morning. During the afternoon, they reach well into the 60s as cloud cover increases some and winds kick up. There’s a slight chance of a shower (20%), but more likely dry weather continues to dominate..Highs reach 65-70 with winds from the west at 10 to 20 mph, gusting to 25-30 mph. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: A cold front passes through but is pretty moisture starved. It’s mostly cloudy with just a 30% of showers (percentages and intensity higher towards the mountains). Lows are in the 40s.. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow (Tuesday): It’s definitely chillier behind the cold front, and with a gusty breezy, partial sunshine can only take away bit of the chill’s edge. Highs reach the mid-to-upper 50s (north) to low 60s (south). Winds are from the west/northwest at 10-20 mph, gusting over 25 mph at times. Confidence: Mediium-High
Tomorrow night: Skies are partly to mostly cloudy and the breeze persists. Temps don’t drop as much as they would under clear skies and light winds, but there’s no doubt a nip is in the air. Lows reach the mid-to-upper 30s. Confidence: Medium-HighA LOOK AHEAD
Wednesday is probably the week’s most unsettled day as another cold front punches through. That means a 40-50% chance of showers along with gusty breezes. And the airmass in place is cold, with highs only in the low-to-mid 50s in the colder north and west suburbs and mid-to-upper 50s elsewhere. Partly cloudy, breezy and cold Wednesday night with lows in the 30s. Confidence: Medium
It’s still cooler than normal Thursday, but we may muster enough to sunshine to get back to 60. We still have a cold pool of air aloft, meaning we may well see an increase in afternoon clouds and the shot at an isolated shower (20% chance). Not as cold Thursday night, with lows in the upper 30s to mid-40s (suburbs to city) under partly cloudy skies. Confidence: Medium
Mostly sunny Friday with the exception of some high clouds in the afternoon. As the pool of cool air slides to our east, milder conditions return with highs in the mid-60s or so. Partly cloudy Friday night with lows in the 40s. Confidence: Medium
The weekend - generally - looks dry and increasingly mild. The one wrinkle is a possible disturbance coming through late Saturday that could generate some showers and thunderstorms (especially north of town). Otherwise, I’m favoring a dry forecast with highs Saturday near 70 and Sunday 70-75. Overnight lows should range from the low 40s to near 50. Confidence: Low-Medium
