A few degrees warmer and a little more sun than yesterday. But still too much fall too soon for me.

FORECAST IN DETAIL

Anyone else not quite ready to say good-bye to summer? If you answered yes, you’ll be happy to know that temperatures are on the rise, though it’s a gradual process with fall still in full effect today as highs struggle toward 70. By midweek we may climb to 80 again, but the price of such warmth could be some showers and storms.

Today (Sunday): Despite a continued flow from the east/northeast, we should see a bit more in the way of sun than yesterday, but with considerable clouds as well. Maybe even some patchy morning drizzle. Highs top out somewhere in the mid-60s to near 70 depending on just how much sun we see. With enough clearing, perhaps another beautiful sunset is on deck for us. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies should contain enough clear patches for temperatures to drop to rather cool overnight lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. Light evening winds from the north/northeast decrease to near calm overnight. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Monday): Tomorrow looks like that day we were hoping for this weekend. The sun breaks out a bit more - at least partly sunny, maybe mostly sunny - and winds swing around to come from the south, bumping highs to the low-to-mid 70s. You’ll have to check back tomorrow morning to see if we think there will be enough sun to warrant a Nice Day Sun. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy skies and a little more moisture in the air means that we won’t be getting as cold as the previous few nights. Overnight lows are about 10 degrees warmer than tonight, in the upper 50s to near 60. Confidence: Medium-High

A LOOK AHEAD

Tuesday brings even warmer weather but also another cold front. This one doesn’t quite pack the cooling punch though. What it does bring is rain chances around 30%, maybe higher to the west. A few breaks of sun are possible in an otherwise cloudy day, with highs reaching the mid-to-upper 70s. Tuesday night lows drop back to the low-to-mid 60s. Confidence: Medium

The forecast doesn’t change too much for Wednesday. We’re looking at a partly to mostly cloudy but decently warm day, with highs reaching near 80 and a 40% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Confidence: Medium
