Pleasant and warm without mugginess. The only flaws might be a cloud or two, and still-high UV levels. Get the Digit on Twitter | Discuss on Facebook
We have a couple good days (in time for the Andrew’s AFB Air Show) before an uncertain Sunday unfolds. Enjoy at least partial sunshine, dry air, and comfortable conditions while you can since showers and clouds could move into the picture as early as Saturday night. It also looks like it could be a cloudy, damp start looking to the next workweek.
Today (Friday): Should be an okay end to the week with just a light easterly breeze and maybe a cloud here and there. By late afternoon, most of us should hit the mid-70s. Today’s bonus is dry air, reflected in our low (40s) dewpoint regime. If outdoors for more than 30 minutes, please make sunscreen requisite, since UV may still be very high at times during the midday hours. Confidence: Medium
Tonight: Skies remain mainly clear, with very light east breeze continuing for the early evening. Temperatures stay in the 60s even after dinner, so get out and enjoy for a bit. Eventually it will be somewhat cool as temperatures fall to the upper 40s outside the Beltway, to mid-50s possible in Metro Center. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Saturday): It looks great, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 80, maybe warmer south of town. With a light northeasterly breeze possible, there could be some cooling marine influence, but mainly along the Bay and beaches. If heading east, there could be more clouds there than around the Beltway and temperatures holding in the 70s. This might be the best day to visit Virginia’s Renaissance Fair? This could end up another nice day stamp kinda day, but my confidence is one step too low for now. Confidence: Medium
Tomorrow night: Should see us with clouds more likely blotting the sky. Shower chances rise to 30% or so, with low temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50s. Confidence: Medium
Sunday: I’m uncertain with regards to amount of clouds or showers potentially, but starting to think we may see a little of both, rather than completely clear and sunny skies. If we remain more sunny and relatively unscathed with showers, high temperatures could get into the low 80s. But I believe a couple showers (20% chance) may pop as sunshine percolates the atmosphere just enough. Some of this accompanying, potential afternoon cloudcover would keep us in the low-to-mid 70s (pessimistic scenario). We will continue to refine and work on this for you, as best possible so you can make informed decisions for weddings or marathons! Confidence: LowA LOOK AHEAD
Monday may continue with our cloudy theme — at least partly to mostly gray — with a 30-40% chance of showers and highs warming at least into the mid-70s. More sun may see us into the low 80s. Confidence: Low
Tuesday we try to clear out a bit more than Monday, yet this could only allow the sun to destabilize the atmosphere — creating a 30-40% of thunderstorms accompanying any showers. We may feel a bit sweaty too, as muggy highs hit the 80-degree mark for many of us. Perhaps mid-80s south of town, if sunshine remains strong through the afternoon. Confidence: Low
