FORECAST IN DETAIL

There’s something to be said for consistency, and we’ll have plenty of that over the next several days. We’re not looking at the most ideal blue skies but at least we stay warm. A stationary area of high pressure off the East Coast means an onshore component to our winds, and that means we hedge to the somewhat cloudy side. But, that’s not the worst price to pay for highs near and past 70 while we’re still technically in winter.

Today (Sunday): An area of high pressure off the coast adds a bit of an onshore component to the winds. So, like Friday, we probably struggle to break free of the fog and clouds. Still, I don’t expect a completely cloudy day - we’ll call it mostly to partly cloudy - and we may see some sun especially in the afternoon. Temperatures are pretty nice regardless, in the upper 60s to low 70s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Clouds thicken and areas of fog settle in for the overnight as the marine layer moves back in. Overnight lows drop to near 50 to the low 50s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Monday): Our pattern doesn’t want to change much, so we’re looking at another mostly to partly cloudy day with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. I’ll also mention the chance for an isolated shower or thundershower as a little disturbance passes overhead. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: It’s rinse and repeat for the nights as well. The marine layer moves inland bringing with it foggy, clammy and cool conditions. Expect lows in 50s. Confidence: Medium

A LOOK AHEAD

Our mostly pleasant pattern persists Tuesday and Wednesday with high pressure remaining entrenched off the coast. Look for at least partly cloudy skies both days and a continued chance of an isolated shower or thundershower. Highs stay mild - likely in the low-to-mid 70s - with Tuesday night lows in the 50s. Confidence: Medium
