FORECAST IN DETAIL
I guess this isn’t exactly breaking news. But one thing I’ve noticed during this string of awesome weather is how much of a difference that strong May sun makes. 70 in the shade almost feels slightly cool, especially with any breeze. Whereas 70 in the bright sun can feel pretty darn hot. We’ve got a few more quiet weather days to contemplate such “deep thoughts” before rain chances return heading into the weekend.
Today (Wednesday): Today’s an easy forecast - and a delightful one at that. High pressure delivers once again for partly to mostly sunny skies, light winds, and highs in the low-to-mid 70s smack in the middle of the comfort zone. Confidence: High
Tonight: Must we endure yet another refreshing evening with temperatures backing through the 60s? Well, if we must. Under partly to mostly clear skies, overnight lows settle in the upper 40s to low 50s (suburbs) to low-to-mid 50s (downtown). Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Thursday): Can we extend this streak of perfect to near-perfect weather? I do believe high pressure holds its ground for another great day, with skies at least partly sunny and highs around the mid-70s. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow night: We dial up another nice evening with partly cloudy skies and overnight lows near 50 to the mid-50s. Just a slight chance of a shower and mainly for the western suburbs. Confidence: Medium-HighA LOOK AHEAD
Clouds are on the increase Friday and that slight chance of a shower remains primarily west of town. Skies should still be sunny enough to get highs to the low-to-mid 70s. Showers aren’t a definite Friday night, but odds increase a bit to around 30% area-wide. Confidence: Medium
Not much confidence in the timing of rain and amounts. But the weekend does look mostly cloudy and potentially showery at times with a thunderstorm or two possible as well. Temperatures are a question mark too, with highs anywhere from the mid-60s to mid-70s depending on how much cloud cover and rain. Confidence: Low-Medium
