The humidity was so low yesterday that the heat index was running a few degrees below the air temperature. Dew points are a bit higher today, but they’re still low enough to make highs in the low-to-mid 90s a tolerable heat. By this evening, though, the mugginess becomes more noticeable, and stays that way into midweek even as temperatures trend a touch cooler. With the increased humidity comes increased chances for showers and thunderstorms, especially Tuesday and Wednesday.
Today (Sunday): High pressure off the Southeast coast holds sway over our weather today and that means its another mostly sunny and hot one with highs in the low-to-mid 90s. You may notice a tad more humidity in the air as dew points come up a bit, but it’s still more enjoyable than our typical summer steamers. Might see a lonely shower or two near or northeast of Baltimore. Confidence: High
Tonight: Mugginess becomes more noticeable as moisture levels climb later in the evening and overnight. Even with mostly clear skies, the atmosphere has a tough time cooling off. Overnight lows downtown only get down to the low 70s with mid-to-upper 60s in the suburbs. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Monday): Skies should start mostly sunny, but flow from the southeast means a better chance of seeing some clouds by afternoon. Highs reach the upper 80s to near 90 as humidity becomes more of a factor, with just a 20% chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow night: Still that 20% chance of an evening shower or thunderstorm. Then overnight we see a 30% chance of showers especially in the western suburbs. Otherwise, we’re warm and sticky under mostly cloudy skies, with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Confidence: Medium
A LOOK AHEADShowers and thunderstorms look more likely Tuesday as a cold front approaches and may linger into Wednesday. Temperatures are held in check by partly to mostly cloudy skies, but should still reach the 80s both days with plenty of humidity in the air. Tuesday night lows are right around 70 degrees. Confidence: Low-Medium
