With as finicky as this fall has been, I’ll take days like today anytime they come around. Partly to mostly sunny and a mild afternoon presents perfect weather for raking leaves, picking apples, going for a hayride, or whatever fall delights (or chores) you’d like to take part in. The nice weather should, for the most part, stick around for a few days. By midweek, though, a stalling cold front threatens a stretch of increased clouds and shower chances.
Today (Sunday): High pressure gets a better grip on the region today, which should mean fewer clouds than yesterday - partly to mostly sunny skies - and warmer temperatures too. It’s a crisp start if you’re out and about early, but by afternoon highs climb to the mid-60s with light winds. Confidence: High
Tonight: Fall-lovers enjoy the evening chill and a pretty sunset as we move into the night. Skies turn increasingly cloudy and our temperatures dip to the mid-40s (suburbs) to near 50 (downtown) with a very light breeze from the south.

Tomorrow (Monday): Some doubt has crept into what was a near perfect forecast for tomorrow. A fast-moving system to the north may be just enough to clip us with some clouds, and even a sprinkle or two (around or less than a 20% chance). Still, most of the day should be plenty nice, with at least partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Confidence: Medium
Tomorrow night: Can’t rule out an evening sprinkle. Otherwise, skies should turn mostly clear, which could lead to some areas of fog. Overnight lows bottom in the mid-to-upper 40s. Confidence: MediumA LOOK AHEAD
High pressure grabs hold of us once again on Tuesday bringing back that lovin’ feeling, or at least mostly sunny skies. It could very well be the star of the week weather-wise, with highs likely near 70 or into the low 70s. Tuesday night, clouds may move in from the west overnight or toward morning, ahead of our next weather system. Lows dip to the upper 40s to mid-50s. Confidence: Medium-High
On Wednesday, a cold front approaches from the west, but may hang back long enough for us to squeeze out a decent day, with partly sunny skies, highs in the 70s, and shower chances possibly holding off until at least later in the day. Once the front does arrive, it appears it, along with increased clouds and rain chances, may stay with us for a few days. Confidence: Low
