There is plenty to like about today with a lot of sun and a lot less humidity. But for a little less breeze and a couple degrees cooler, it would be perfection. Get the Digit on Twitter| Discuss on Facebook

FORECAST IN DETAIL

With Beryl speeding out to sea, there is nothing to mess up a great end to the month. Friday looks more trying with the potential for late storms that could be severe. Keep close track of the forecasts and be safe. The weekend is promising to make up for it with its finest - 70s for highs. So plan on getting out there to enjoy. While I can’t rule out a stray shower on Sunday, it should not be a deal breaker for outdoor fun.

Today (Thursday): Plenty of sun and a notably drier airmass are user friendly. Look for highs to only briefly make it into the low-to-mid 80s. Winds perk up from the north at 10-15 mph thanks to the backside of Beryl even though it is well out sea and heading quickly to the east. Confidence: High

Tonight: The evening is clear and comfortable with readings in the 70s. Breezes are barely noticeable. Clouds increase later at night as lows slip down to the low-to-mid 60s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Friday): Clouds are in abundance today, but a few intervals of sunshine to destabilize the atmosphere are possible. Highs reach the lower 80s.. A fairly strong storm in the Midwest perks up a strong breeze out of the southeast at 10-20 mph with gusts even higher. The cold front from this system is likely to arrive late in the afternoon to spur a vigorous line of thunderstorms (70% chance). Look for some heavy downpours and possible damaging wind gusts and hail as well as the outside chance of a tornado. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Showers and thundershowers are likely to be most prevalent in the early evening (90% chance) so be careful if you are going out. Some areas could end up with an inch of rain to further replenish our soil moisture deficits. A few stray showers could still lurk in the area until midnight. Winds remain brisk, shifting from south around to the west as the showers pass by. Temperatures drop off quickly overnight and end up in the mid-to-upper 50s. Confidence: Medium

A LOOK AHEAD

You may want to rethink an early morning swim as Saturday starts off brisk. However, highs in the mid-70s make this a great day for a stroll in the park or any other fun ideas you can come up with to get outdoors. Skies should be bright blue as humidity slumps once again. The nearly full moon should rise in splendor this evening with readings in the 60s. Lows end up in the mid-to-upper 50s so pull up those covers if you leave the windows open. Confidence: Medium-High

Sunday sees clouds gradually increase but there should still be plenty of sunny patches. Highs are likely to peak in the mid-to-upper 70s for another gift of a day. There is a 40% chance of a shower during the afternoon but it should be light and brief so don’t give up your outdoor plans. Hopefully skies clear in the evening to enjoy the full moon known by such names as Rose, Flower, Honey and Strawberry moon. Evening readings in the lower 70s end up in the upper 50s to lower 60s by dawn. Confidence: Medium

Back to work Monday.should be a pleasant commute under sunny skies with mild temperaturs. Highs are likely to top out in the upper 70s to lower 80s for a delightfully seasonable day. Confidence: Medium
