What do we want? Sun! When do we want it? Now! Chant all you want but sun is going to be hard to come by today. We are able to string together a pair of nice days tomorrow and Friday, which is no easy feat around here this spring, before rain chances arrive again Friday night or Saturday morning. As a whole, the weekend doesn’t look great, though Sunday could be decent even if not terribly warm.
Today (Wednesday): An upper-level area of low pressure wants to keep skies overcast with a good chance of showers and/or drizzle through much of the morning. The rain threat should move north of the area heading into the afternoon but mostly cloudy skies probably persist. Mid-to-upper 50s may be it for highs, unless any afternoon brightening or glimpses of sun can briefly pop temps to the low 60s. Breezes around 10-20 mph from the northwest and west make it feel even colder. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: High pressure building in from the west kicks the upper-level low to the curb. That means eventually clearing skies and a cool night with lows from near 40 (suburbs) to the mid-40s (downtown). Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Thursday): The morning is cool to start. But mostly sunny skies quickly pull temperatures upward, and by afternoon it’s about as nice as can be with highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow night: The evening should be a pretty good one to be out and about with temperatures falling back through the 60s and eventually into the 50s. Skies are mostly to partly clear as lows dip to the mid-40s to near 50. Confidence: Medium-HighA LOOK AHEAD
A warm front moving into the area may increase clouds a bit on Friday as breezes come from the southeast, but skies should still be at least partly sunny with highs in the
upper 60s to near 70 mid-60s to near 70. Other than a chance of an isolated shower, rain associated with an approaching cold front should hold off until Friday night (lows in the 50s to near 50) or Saturday morning.
Saturday doesn’t look like a winner: Partly to mostly cloudy, quite breezy, showers likely, thunderstorms possible, and higs in the mid-50s to low 60s. Shower and storm chances continue Saturday night, but I do think we dry out nicely for Sunday.
Problem is clouds probably stick around for at least part of the day with highs only in the mid-50s to low 60s. Clouds may stick around for at least part of the day but highs should reach the 60s.
