As gas prices keep rising, at least this mild winter is giving us a nice break on home heating costs compared to what they could be. The savings really add up today through Friday with highs from near 60 to near 70, and lows tomorrow night higher than our average daytime highs this time of year. With the warmth comes a few shower chances and maybe even a thunderstorm. We chill out this weekend, but only back down to around seasonal norms.

Today (Wednesday): Not too chilly to start, with morning temperatures rising through the 40s into the 50s. And then it really gets good as partly sunny skies and mild breezes from the southwest (around 10-15 mph) push afternoon highs to near 60 or the low 60s, with a 20% chance of a late afternoon shower. Tonight: Might see a few showers pass through during the evening into the overnight (40-50% chance), so if you’ll be out, not a bad idea to bring the umbrella just in case. Mostly cloudy skies and continued flow from the southwest mean mild lows only down to the 40s. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow (Thursday): Thursday one-ups Wednesday in the temperature department with highs in the mid-60s to near 70 under partly sunny skies. Winds remain fairly breezy, near 15 mph from the southwest, and can’t rule out a passing shower (20-30% chance) . Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: We’re partly to mostly cloudy and will hang on to a 30% chance of a passing shower. The bigger story, though, is those temperatures. It’s even warmer than tonight with lows from near 50 to the mid-50s (some 20+ degrees above average). Confidence: Medium

A cold front moving through on Friday increases the chance of showers to 50%, and we may even see a thunderstorm. Despite partly to mostly cloudy skies, highs should still make the 60s with gusty breezes from the west. Winter announces its return with a windy and colder Friday night as lows dip to the 30s. But we say, “is that the best ya got Mother Nature?” to lows that are still several degrees above average. Confidence: Medium
