FORECAST IN DETAIL
Our stale, stalled upper level low is finally going the way of an unwelcome guest and leaving our region. Today you still have time to say a final goodbye as clouds gradually break apart and the sun returns at times this afternoon. Patterns can move slowly in October so that when they’re good, they can be really good and when they’re bad, they can be miserable. The good news for us is that we’re now due (overdue?) for a stalled nice weather spell over the area- from tomorrow through the weekend and maybe a few days longer.
Today (Tuesday): More clouds than sun this morning giving way to partly sunny skies this afternoon. Unlike Monday, temperatures should exceed the 50s and reach into the low-to-mid 60s. Conditions look to be a bit breezier today with winds from the northwest at 10-15 mph. Consider it the upper level low waving goodbye as it departs our fine area. Confidence: High
Tonight: Partly cloudy skies, lows from the middle 40s in the typical cooler suburban spots to the low 50s in the city. Winds are still from the northwest, but on the lighter side.
Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Here comes the good stuff! High pressure takes over where the low pressure leaves off to provide sunny skies, warmer temperatures (low-to-mid 70s), and light breezes from the north. The National Weather Service should issue a “Nice Day” watch as conditions appear likely. Confidence: High
Tomorrow night: Mostly clear and cool. Lows ranging from the low to upper 40s (suburb-city) Confidence: Medium-High
A LOOK AHEADThursday and Friday are excellent weather days. High pressure influencing our weather will be to our north, so temperatures are held really close to normal despite the near full-time sunny skies. Highs both days should mainly be in the low 70s with lows ranging from the upper 30s to the middle 40s (it’s October, so we’ll need to have those evening and early morning jackets handy again). Overnight sky conditions are mostly clear. Confidence: Medium-High
The last few weekends have been on the ugly side, but fortunately we have shifted into an opposite paradigm with a warm and sunny weekend actually on the way! Make your outdoor plans as our forecast confidence is building on this sunny scenario. A warmer wind flow should allow temperatures to reach up into the mid-to-upper 70s with maybe even a few 80-degree readings, especially on Sunday. Lows Saturday night under mostly clear skies range through the 40s. Confidence: Medium.
