How hot will it get today?

* The doggiest of dog days: Full Forecast | NatCast *

So far this summer we've tied or broken four daily high temperature records at Reagan National (DCA):

June 24: 100, June 27: 99, July 7: 102, July 24: 101

Today's record of 98 from 1943 is certainly in reach -- but it's not a given. Let us know if you think we'll match or break another record today in the poll below...

We've extended this interaction onto our Twitter feed @capitalweather where Jamie Jones, CWG's technology lead, asked followers:

Will #dca surpass it's previous record of 98° today? Tiebreaker is the time. Extra points if I laugh at your answer.

Keep reading for some of the submissions so far...

@chasingshinyobj: Yes. 2:29PM - shortly before we stop revolving around Fenty's media magnetic force

@mccanner: it will, at 3:30. But because of tarmac delays, it won't be recorded until 4:45.

@scastano: if the temp at #dca does beat its record of #98degrees, will be as hot as #NSync, or as hot as #BackstreetBoys?? #nkotb4eva

@elizabethdehoff Yes, at 3:07 p.m., during my eighth popsicle of the day.

@pglatfel Most definitely. 1:27 PM. Shoot me now.
