Capital Weather Gang reader S.P. Gass awoke to a “pretty and surprising” 3.5 inches of snow this morning in Warren County between Linden and Chester Gap, Virginia. His picture of the snow backlit by diffuse sunlight is above. You can view more of his photos at OldDominionWildlife.com
Snow flakes were seen not only in the high terrain to our west, but also to our north and northwest. WUSA meteorologist Howard Bernstein reported snow in upper Montgomery County in Clarksburg, Md before dawn.
In Carroll County, schools opened two hours late thanks to 1-3” of snow that accumulated overnight (see a photo posted from North Carroll High School by forecaster Greg J of FootsForecast).
