Today’s image of the day, courtesy NOAA’s Environmental Visualization Laboratory, shows the beautiful structure of the little storm to pass through the D.C. metro region overnight. It has the classic comma shape as clouds wrap around the area of low pressure that was centered in south central Illinois when the image was taken. The storm tracks east/northeast tonight through the northern mid-Atlantic by morning before heading northeast into New England.
