The heaviest rains have finished. But there's been enough since Thursday night (around 1-3" in most spots, over 3.5" at BWI) to cause some minor flooding along the Potomac in Alexandria, Va. yesterday, as well as in urban areas and near small streams in Frederick and Loudoun counties. More significant localized flooding, mainly from overflowing rivers, is expected across the region today into tomorrow.

Flood Warnings and Coastal Flood Warnings are in effect for rivers throughout the area as they continue to rise, and also along the Chesapeake Bay. Mostly minor to moderate is already happening or forecast between tonight and Tuesday along the metro area portions of the Potomac. Waters downstream of Harpers Ferry are predicted to crest Sunday night into Monday.
