Sloppy Snow to Become Steady, Then Slick

* Winter Storm Warning through 2 p.m. Monday *

A mixed bag of precipitation moved into the area over the last hour or so, but has gradually changed to mostly snow. Over the next several hours, the snow will become steady, with possible heavy bursts. Accumulation will begin on grassy areas in the next hour or so and then start to coat roads after about 8 p.m. when temperatures fall to at or below freezing. In a Special Statement, NOAA's Storm Prediction Center mentions the possibility of 1" per hour snowfall rates around 8 p.m., and this could last for several hours...especially along and east of I-95.

Our snowfall prediction remains 4-8" although there may be a sharp cutoff in snow totals west of the beltway, where only 2-4" may fall or even a little less.

How hard/lightly is it snowing where you live? Is it sticking yet? Leave a comment...
